History in Boston's North End . . .

( Part 1 ) : 

A Couple Stops Along the Freedom Trail, Copp's Hill Burial Ground, Old North Church and Chez Paul Revere. 

*Chez ( "home of" in French Language).

Above is a stop along the freedom trail - I am wearing my awesome Lauren by Ralph Lauren Martina boots . . . I think they are now only available on Ebay - sorry for the tease! 

 First stop after FINALLY finding a free parking spot during the day - like gold!  . . . but I know my spots ;) . . . is Copp's Hill Burying Ground - Boston's 2nd oldest burying ground. As you can imagine there are plenty of interesting names and copy on the tombstones so make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to read as many as possible.

Be sure to look down to appreciate the different designs guiding you.

I was always never relaxed, uncomplicated or careless about the thought of wearing or owning my first leather boots. 

Uncomplicated and relaxed, knowing that at the time that some others were, I hadn't yet justified, rationalized or substantiated to myself. 

 For some, as myself, other than casual or minimalist basics, what is worn is intentional, prepared and carefully considered. Other times not.

Mid-calf leather boots, boots! 

Those with complexity, elegance. 

Either intricacy and/or muscle, that ground and/or empower the wearer to stroll as one'd like.

Next stop is the famous Old North Church where Paul Revere, the night of his "midnight ride", warned the minutemen using lamps hanging in the window - "One if by land, Two if by sea".

Excuse that this is a late post! The day I peeked in just happened to be Ash Wednesday and it was such a beautiful mass, The mass centered around "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" Matthew. It served as a reminder that Lent is not just about giving up chocolate as it may seem but rather a time to take inventory and think about where we commit our time and resources . . . and ask ourselves if our heart and treasures are aligned with our investment. . . If not, this is a time to think about how you can reorient to find joy and alignment so that efforts are best spent.  This was my first time getting the beautiful black stuff on my forehead in a while and it was just as great as I had imagined. 

  

As our third and final stop we have The Paul Revere House still preserved to include items from the time period. The materials of the bedding and tablecloths were impressive. There was a no-photography rule and I obliged, but be sure to stop by and feel the floors creaking for yourself.
